Cincinnati: A.B. Roff, 1831. Second Edition. Leather. 216p. REBOUND. A hardcover book rebound with a brown leather spine, brown cloth boards, and new endpapers. The bottom inch and a half of the title page has been torn off. The pages are heavily foxed; there are occasional unobtrusive pencil marks inside as well, but most text unmarked. Text block lightly dampstained and wrinkled. Binding is quite secure. A sturdy, readable copy in an attractive modern binding. An early Ohio imprint! This edition was published in Cincinnati, Ohio, in 1831; the first edition was published in New York in 1828. Howes B-161.<br /> <br /> Enoch Crosby (1750-1835) is considered to be the inspiration for Harvey Birch from THE SPY by James Fenimore Cooper.
