First edition hard back binding in publisher's original brown paper covered boards, cream title and author lettering to the spine. 8vo. 8½'' x 5½''. Contains 218 printed pages of text with monochrome photographs throughout. Corners a little creased, ghosting to the end papers. Very Good condition book in near Very Good condition dust wrapper with age darkened spine, nicks and chips to the spine ends and corners, not price clipped. Dust wrapper supplied in archive acetate film protection, this preserves and prolongs the life of the paper, it is not adhered to the book or to the dust wrapper. Member of the P.B.F.A.

Minor edge soiling. In 1965, a year after Molody's return to the Soviet Union, a book called Spy: Memoirs of Gordon Lonsdale was published with the approval of the Soviet authorities. It has to be read with caution. For instance, he claims Peter and Helen Kroger, convicted as members of the Portland Ring, were innocent. In fact they were veteran spies as the Soviets confirmed when they were exchanged in 1969. For Molody, life back in the Soviet Union was not a happy one. According to George Blake he was particularly critical of the way trade and industry were handled. He was given a post of minor importance and took to drinking.
