Illustrated endpapers, showing a map of France and the route taken by the characters. The text is illustrated with 31 illustrations by John Harcourt Finnie. Green coloured boards with black titles to the front panel and backstrip. Bumping to the lower backstrip edge and to the top corners. A little scuffing to the book edges. Light browning and foxing to the text block edges. Illustrated dustwrapper, being a reproduction of a French Railway Poster, with black titles to the front panel and backstrip. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners and to the backstrip, with loss. A few small tears to the top dustwrapper edge with associated creasing and a small tear to the lower edge of the front dustwrapper panel. Rubbing to either side of the backstrip and to the dustwrapper panels. Yellowing of the rear dustwrapper panel. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. Light browning and faint foxing to verso of the dustwrapper. The adventures of Dr. and Mrs Courtney and their children in France, and more particularly in Brittany.
