(One generally encounters this uncommon title without color.) Original cloth spine (backstrip) bound in. Plush red morocco binding by Riviere & Son. Three armorial bookplates (Viscount Birkenhead, Reginald Roose Francis and John, Lord King of Wartnaby -- former chairman of British Airways). TEG. Minor rubbing along joint ends. A few small black smudge stains on boards. Light age toning, and occasional soiling besides.

, [1], 426 pages, [2] adverts at the rear, complete with vignette title page and 12 plates in black & white, remains of a binder's stamp at the top of the verso of the front free endpaper, which says T. Gosden, comes with an old typed note saying it was bound by the artist Thomas Gosden who also did the plates. Bookbinding was one of the things thomas Gosden turned his hand to, apart from his paintings he was also an engraver, publisher and bookseller
