The text is illustrated with colour and black-and-white photographs, and colour and black-and-white illustrations. Black coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. In this book over 50 of the greatest speeches ever given, and the stories behind them, with a small biography of the speaker also present. Included: – is the speech given by Napoleon Bonaparte farewelling his army in 1814; Clarence Darrow's seven-hour defence argument for Henry Sweet – a Black man on trial for murder after a white mob tried to evict him and his family from their house in 1926; Winston Churchill's speeches to the House of Commons during World War II; and, John F Kennedy's inauguration speech 1961, are but a few examples.
