Boston: JNO & J. N. Russell & William P. Blake. Good+. 1796. Second Edition. A passionate speech by Fisher Ames in support of passage of the Jay Treaty. Even though the British surrendered in 1883, the treaty ending the American Revolution was not ratified until 1796 & even then it passed by only 3 votes. This document came from the estate in Eastern Massachusetts. "Jacob Towne Property" hand written on front cover. Jacob Towne of Topsfield answered the call in Lexington in 1775 and was a soldier in the Revolution. This second edition was printed in Boston, 1796. Soft covers with hand writen title. Cover edges with wear but not affecting the text, Pages slightly age toned and have front corner wear. Americana, Revolutionary War ; 8vo; 52 pages .
