Illustrator: Photographic. foreword by author, list of illustrations and index. Map illustrated end pages, showing the route taken by the author in search of peace. At the beginning of the text there is a sample page of notes taken by the author, in shorthand, of one of the meetings at Yaltain 1945. On the verso of this page is a transcription of shorthand notes. Black and white photographic frontispiece of the author, and there are are three other black-and-white photographs within the text. Dark red coloured textured cloth covered boards, with self embossed publisher's logo to the lower right-hand corner of the front panel and gilt coloured titles to the back strip. Photographic dustwrapper white and yellow coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the back strip. As Secretary of State, he, more than any one man, shaped and directed American foreign policy during the critical time. Softening and rubbing of the back strip edges with a little rubbing of the book stop uniform tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. Creasing of the top dustwrapper edge some chipping of the back strip corners. There is a small tear to the top left-hand corner of the back strip. A small three-cornered tear to the front fold over crease, 4 inches from the top. Fading of the back strip; and, there are a few marks panels and sunning of the rear panel.
