Hardcover. 12mo - 19 x 13 cm.; 314 pp. A novel centered on the island of Corsica by Fredenburgh (b. 1897), an American high school drop-out who went to war at age 15, then wandered through various jobs, wrote an initial novel, Soldiers March, traveled to Russia and Corsica, and returned to the US in 1933. This basically takes his life up to 1936, in Florida, when he published this novel. Light orangey beige boards with black spine lettering, front cover lettering and design are in black, spine has the publisher name of Macaulay. Light soiling on cover and text block edges, bit of finger smudging in text, one page is creased; binding is sturdy. Dust jacket is soiled, edgeworn with some tape repairs on the back side, front flap is corner clipped. .

Very Good. 1936 Green Circle unstated 1st edition, Very Good/Good DJ in Mylar, dustjacket has short tears 7 tiny chips at spine extremities & corners, some creases & tiny chips at edges, some purple staining on rear panel which is white, in new mylar, price intact, spine has slight cock- binding sound, former price in faint red pencil in corner on endpaper (a good deal less than I'm asking), no other markings found, top front corner is very slightly bumped.
