About This Item

Leningrad: Aurora Art Publishers, 1975. First edition. Hardcover. 190pp. Quarto [29 cm] Light brown cloth over boards. Pictorial endpapers. Color plates. English text. The book is near fine. In an illustrated thin card slipcase, in very good condition, with moderate wear to the extremities, and a short split at the head of the spine. From the text- "Critical junctures in history have always been especially difficult periods for architecture, for they are periods when people's outlook, their aesthetic ideals, indeed their very way of life undergo change. One such juncture was the Great October Revolution, which released tremendous creative forces. In a historically short period Soviet architecture has travelled a long way, producing results of enormous social significance.
