Hardcover. Green cloth with titles stamped in gilt on front boards and spine. xxii, 430 pp. Many illustrations and photographs, though lacking the two maps at rear. The author was a "naturalist of an expedition sent by the United States Government in 1889 to the west coast of Africa"...and "collector, big-game hunter, gold seeker, landowner, citizen, and soldier" in Rhodesia, largely now the modern state of Zimbabwe.
