A massive, near definitive WWII-era theater how-to necessitated by the outbreak of the war and the transfer of equipment manufacturing production to military tools of war, which in turn demanded that old theater equipment be maintained and/or repaired. Every imaginable theater topic included from technical to operational. See attached photos for TOC. Densely illustrated with nearly 1,000 photos and schematics of equipment, theater interiors and much, much more. Essentially, an exceptionally detailed history of mid-century theater operation. Of special note is a 19-page chapter on the early design and development of drive-in theaters. L. E. Pope was involved in building and operating one of the first drive-in theaters, the St. Joseph, Missouri Belt Drive-In, which opened July 11, 1947. His copy. His name stamped in gilt to front panel.
