About This Item
Boston: Houghton Mifflin Company, 1954 Blue cloth; gilt cover decoration, title, and spine."An exploration of the ocean of air." Map endpapers illustrating "Winds of the World" air current directions and effects. Black-and-white drawings and diagrams throughout. Very light rubbing to cover extremities. Puzzling are the very faint traces of a "discarded" inkstamp on the front endpaper (which blends into the artist's map of Asia), because there is no other indication that this may have been a library book; possibly it was a private owner's stamp. Small light blue spot on upper page block (ink stain?) Otherwise clean and tight in a moderately-to-heavily edgeworn dust jacket. Upper corners and head of spine of jacket are worn and chipped; single irregular chip/1" closed tear at upper edge of front panel. Very light soil to rear (white) panel. Now protected in mylar.
