Text is illustrated in black and white line drawings of a is all coloured illustrations by Rex Davies. On the publication data page, is pasted on a slip stating first published August 1970 by William Collins. Emerald green boards gilt writing on spine. Illustrated dustwrapper, again by Rex Davies, showing white-plumed honeyeater, with white background and black writing on front panel and spine. "This book describes and illustrates in a straight forward fashion those birds which are most commonly found in the main cities of South-East Australia.". Slight rubbing of the rear panel of the dust wrapper, bottom corner of the rear board is bumped, top and front edges of the book block are slightly browned with traces of foxing.
