About This Item

Oxford: Oxford at the Clarendon Press, 1948. 31p., presswork on laid-lined paperstock, sewn pamphlet in 9x6 inch plain printed grey wraps, signatures are only partially opened (not too badly), former owner pooped out. Thread is sound, covers a little crimped and toned, clean and unmarked within, a good to very good copy. Commences, "It will, I hope, be deemed fitting that a lecture in commemoration of the work of Sir J.G. Frazer should attempt to deal with our own country's life in such a way as to bring out in some measure the deep roots of the life in a far-off past and the continuity from those times to the present''. Fleure thereupon tackles geologic history, glacial conditions during the Ice Age.
