Inscribed to Miller's Polish translator, Zygmunt Łanowski in 1956. Łanowski (1911-1989) was a Polish translator of English and Nordic languages who translated Miller's present book, The Smile at the Foot of the Ladder (Uśmiech u stóp drabiny, 1964).
