1869., 1869.. Good. - A small label signed "Salisbury" is mounted on an unevenly cut slip of paper approximately 2 inches high by 4 inches wide. "Marquess of Salisbury 1869" is penned in another hand on the paper below the autograph. The paper is darkened. Good.
Robert Gascoyne-Cecil, 3rd Marquess of Salisbury, [1830-1903] styled Lord David Cecil and Viscount Cranborne before the deaths of his elder brother and father, was a British statesman and a member of the Conservative Party. He served three times as Prime Minister for a total of more than thrteen years. He was the last Prime Minister to head his full administration from the House of Lords.
