The contents are reprinted from articles and letters published in the British newspaper the Daily Mail in 1912 and 1913. They include an introduction titled "Humaner Methods in the Abattoir", articles by British author John Galsworthy, a rejoinder from the National Federation of Meat Traders' Associations, and a critical response to the meat traders from Arthur Lee, M.P.
