Pale sage-colored cloth, light toning around cloth edges. Natural staining to free endpapers. Pages show some foxing (most noticeably to the first twenty pages and along the fore-edge of the text block). Dust jacket chipped at head of spine and at corners; spine toned; short closed tear to top edge of front panel; rear panel shows spotting and general soiling; price clipped; in a clear archival sleeve. Dust wrapper illustration by Roy Sanford. x, 231, [1] pages. 20 x 12.5 cm. The first British edition of The Martian Chronicles, differing from the American edition by including ''The Fire Balloons'' and omitting ''Usher II''.
