Author Published, 1964. 26 pages; the author, an attorney, traveled to these Asian countries under the auspices of a fact-finding and investors tour of the silk industry, with visits to various government and business locations in Japan, Hong Kong, Korea and Taiwan; interesting travelogue details from a high-level business viewpoint, naming the politicians and industrial leaders at the time which were involved in the promotion and enhancement of the silk and textile business, for instance while in Tokyo: "...to see a Japanese weaving and printing plant. Mr. Na Ka Bayashi Akira was our delightful tour leader....a textile printing plant, which again was small in size and somewhat primitive as compared with American manufacturing equipment and methods. It was located in a compound a short distance from the town....neat, cmpentent efficient plant to print attractive designs in good color arrangement..."; an interesting sidelight to the commentary is attention to the foods and shopping at locations, often the menu is detailed by the author dish by dish: "...An now my recollections of that last dinner in Taiwan at the Grand Hotel having stimulated my taste buds into a second bloom, let me recite: Four cold dishes, shark's fins in brown sauce, fried lobster with bean sauce, chicken balls in oyster sauce, fried squabs in soy sauce, mashed vegetables, Pekin ducks, steamed fish, chicken and mushroom soup, and papaya and watermelon..."; previous owner inscription on first leaf; 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" approx. size; some light edge, tips wear to printed paper wrap covers; very good condition and interesting Asian silk industry, travel and culinary history ephemeral item from this period in the mid-twentieth century..
