New York, 1980. pamphlet. Exceedingly rare signed Playbill for the premier performance of "Clothes for a Summer Hotel" at The Cort Theatre, March 26, 1980, which also happened to be Williams 69th birthday. Near fine condition.

The play was about the relationship between F. Scott Fitzgerald and his wife Zelda. A critical and commercial failure, it was Williams' last play to debut on Broadway during his lifetime and closed after 14 performances. Williams has signed in full on the cast page directly beneath the show's title as has its star, Geraldine Page. According to The New York Times, "Tennessee Williams took the failure of Hotel very personally - vowing never to stage an opening night for one of his plays on Broadway ever again." Known for his bouts with mood swings and depression, it is unlikely that he signed more than a handful of this Playbill edition.
