One of the first-ever African-born soccer stars was this Mozambique-born Portuguese srtiker, who played for nine teams between 1957 and 1979; most "best of" lists name him among the best players of the 20th century. Large eccentric signature and "#10" in blue ballpoint on a special heavy stock 5" X 3" card, n.p., dated 1977 July 29. Fine. With original envelope. A bold, superb example penned near the end of his playing career, during his brief tenure with the Las Vegas Quicksilvers (1977-78), from where this envelope was postally cancelled. Rather uncommon.
