Type: Z A super copy of this two volume scarce 1st UK biography, translated by Robert Layton.. Illustrated with numerous examples of musical staves and a few b/w illustrations. Gilt embossed lettering to the spines. Volume I - 316pp. Light bump to the head of the spine and a slight bump to the tail of the spine. The first 8 leaes hae light or slight printer's crease marks and there is slight soiling to the fore edges. Otherwise fresh and clean. Dust wrapper is price clipped and there is slightest of fading to the spine of the wrapper. Light creasing to the head of the spine of the wrapper and slightly to the tail of the spine of head of the rear panel of the wrapper. Volume II - 302pp. Two corners slightly bumped. Fresh and clean. Dust wrapper is not price clipped with uniform fading of the spine from yellow to white, retaining clarity of the titling. There is light fading to the adjacent edge and to the head of the front panel of the wrapper. A well preserved, very good copy of this set.
