Severe cracking to front & rear endpaper gutters with exposed netting resulting in shaky boards. Pages are mildly tanned throughout. Text is clear. Thumb-marking present. Binding is slightly shaky , however pages remain attached. Boards have moderate edge-wear with bumping to corners and rubbing to surfaces. Book has a slight forward lean. Heavy tanning to spine and edges with crushing to spine ends. Gilt lettering is darkened to spine.

Collins' Clear-Type Press, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. 525 pages. No dust jacket. Green cloth and slipcase. Pages are lightly tanned and thumbed at the edges, with creased corners and foxing. Hinges are cracked, pages have remained tightly bound. Boards are a little rub worn with slight shelf wear to corners, spine and edges. Corners are a little bumped and spine ends are a mildly crushed. Slipcase mildly rub worn, light shelf wear to spine, edges and corners. With some splitting to seams and edges.

Pages with some foxing and tanning, particularly to endpapers and textblock edges. Some cracking to gutters with exposed netting. Binding loose. Some page corners folded. Boards have heavy shelf wear with bumping and fraying to corners and crushing and fraying to spine ends. All surfaces heavily tanned, particularly spine. Gilt lettering to spine is heavily dulled but remains brighter on front. Some additional marks and staining to surfaces.

Robert Riviere & Son, 1111. Hardcover. Acceptable. No Edition Remarks. 982 pages. Blue cloth with gilt lettering. Black and white illustrated frontispiece. Gilded page edges. Piercing hole to front pastedown, free endpaper and frontispiece. Light tanning to pages with noticeable staining and foxing to pastedowns and free endpapers. Binding remains firm. Boards have minor corner bumping and edgewear with mild tanning to edges and scuffing overall. Small hole to front board. Spine has light tanning with soft crushing to ends. Lettering remains bright and clear.
