About This Item
New York: Harper & Brothers, 1953. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. Maurice Sendak. First edition stated; 8vo, 182 pages, in-text drawings by Maurice Sendak throughout; brick colored cloth boards show light wear at extremities, short cut in spine that does not penetrate the cloth; clipped dust jacket with some faint brown spots and toned spine, award sticker on front cover. A seemingly simple story of a boy who longs for a pet, and finally ends up with his very own pet rabbit, only to find he's escaped in the night.
