Wear and rubbing along the edges of the boards with bumping to the head and heel of the spine with small tears in the binding on the head and heel of the spine also. Edges of textblock have light soiling. Frontispiece by Elenore Plaisted Abbot. 291 pages. A collection of stories by Ellen Glasgow (1874-1945), a gifted Virginia writer and Pulitzer winner in 1942. The stories are: 1. The Shadowy Third, 2. Dare's Gift, 3. The Past, 4. Whispering Leaves, 5. A Point in Morals, 6. The Difference, 7. Jordan's End. The first four are considered ghost stories, the others less supernatural.
