Introduction by the Earl Wavell. Pages remain bright and clean with minimal tanning and foxing. Binding remains firm. Text block edges notably foxed with slight water marks. A few small liquid droplet marks to pastedowns. Boards have moderate shelf wear with mild bumping and fraying to corners and crushing to spine ends. All surfaces tanned and sunned, particularly spine which has some small black spots also. Gilt lettering to spine is slightly dulled. A few liquid droplet marks.

Traces of pink paper stuck to penultimate leaf, which has left notable scuffing and slight blue marks. Droplet stain to fore edge. Boards have light shelf-wear with corner bumping. Notable stain to tail of spine. Book has forward lean. Gilt is bright. Unclipped jacket has moderate edgewear with chips, tears, and creasing. Moderate water staining to spine, droplets to panels. Slight loss to spine ends. Moderate rubbing and marking all over. Moderate sunning to spine. Slight blue marks to rear. Creased rear flap.
