Spine decorated with gilt flowers, with 5 raised bands and black leather spine labels. Marbled endpapers. Condition is GOOD+ ; leather is dry and has cracked along front hinge, though the cover is still firmly attached. (I've now treated it with leather dressing) Wear to corners and ends of spine, slight rubbing to all extremities. A few minor scratches to leather covers. Text is very clean with no foxing. PO's contemporary engraved, heraldic bookplate, with the name George Edward Allen, of Bathampton. There is also a printed plate on the rear pastedown, indicating where it is shelved in his library, and hand-numbered. Bailie, the Scottish dramatist and poet was b. 1762, d. 1851. Drama. RGR.
