Contemporary former owner name neatly inked to the head of the front free endpaper, and half a dozen small instances of fox spotting to the margins of the rear pastedown. Printed on very slightly substandard economy wartime paperstock, yet still a virtually fine copy in tanned and lightly chafed non-price-clipped dust wrapper. Twenty-five poems, plus eleven extracts from 'The Land'. Three of these poems here make their first bookform appearance, and two others ('September 1939' and 'Dig-Dog') appear in print here for the very first time (contrary to the unaccredited editorial note). 2,500 copies were printed.
