Provenance: rubber stamp of Friends Free Library (Philadelphia) to title page verso, Zion Research Library bookplate. Penn was the founder of an English North American colony, an early member of the Quakers, and director of the planning and development of Philadelphia.

Medium Folio Image size: 8.5 x 14.9-inches, 14 x 19 framed. Very Good/Very Good. Faint waterstain on print bottom can be restored. "Length over all 620 ft, Depth of Hold 43 Ft, Breadth 65 Ft, Tonnage 12,500 - Horse Power 30,000. Identification by address: at No. 115 Nassau from 1877-94 and both Cunard Line Twin-screws were in the New York World's Fair 1893. Cunningham 6260 except his is image size is 8.9x14.15..

One line has been trimmed at the foot of Page 2, and there is some edge browning/paper clip residue. Original 6-page typescript (carbon copy) manuscript of Johns' 'Heroes of Africa' (a draft of the Chapter 'The Scot Who Walked Alone' - Chapter 4 of 'Biggles Book of Heroes' with significant similarities, but also a large number of textual / content differences). With a couple of pen corrections which may or may not be authorial. Undated, but c1959.

Author's first novel. Blue and yellow cloth with dustjacket illustrated by Roy Lichtenstein on the front and Andy Warhol on the back. Light edgewear, good hinges, firm text block, name and address written inside front cover beneath the dustjacket flap, embossed stamp with the same address at lower corners of front free endpaper and half-title, no other markings. The mylar protected dustjacket has edgewear and a slightly darkened but legible spine, some light shelf soil to the white background, chips to spine ends and lower corner of rear panel, none of the chips interfering with dustjacket design. . A collection of recipes and advice for pleasurable entertaining, from a woman of stature, descendant of Roger Puleston of Emral, Worthenbury. She spent her later years in Monaco, and travelled in high circles there, in the book offering thanks to the Marches Donghi for supplying recipes to this compilation. The recipes reflect Monaco, offering Tacchino all Storiona, Sole Lucullus, Zabaglione, and Oeufs Poches Marquise, for example. With the bookplate of Wm. D. Tarrant, almost certainly the same Tarrant as the mayor of Wichita 1965-67, and the Gun Dog Editor for Field & Stream, and twice named Dog Writer of the Year by the Dog Writers Association of America.
