Blue coloured boards with black coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, same illustration as for frontispiece, with yellow coloured titles to the front panel and yellow and red coloured titles to the backstrip. A novel set in Canada with a Christian emphasis. A young spoiled girl slowly comes to realise that the religion that her sister is teaching the local Indian children, is also for her.  Bumping to the backstrip edges to the lower book corners. Browning and faint foxing to the text block edges and cocking of the spine. Browning and offset tanning to the endpapers and age toning of the internal pages. There is a prize plate affixed to the free front end paper. Original bookseller's stamp to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down. There is fading to the backstrip edges, a commensurate with loss of dustwrapper. The underlying rabbinic can be seen between pages 80 and 81 – as if the book has been over opened. Rubbing and chipping to the dustwrapper corners. The top 0.25 " of the backstrip is missing and triangular pieces missing from the lower backstrip edge. There is a 2.25 " tear to the lower left-hand corner of the front dustwrapper panel which has a horizontal component almost half the width of the backstrip. A little rubbing to the creases and to the rear dustwrapper panel. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner.
