Inscribed by Richards to Bill Boggs, four-time Emmy Award-winning New York television talk show host, who interviewed the author on his show: "to Bill Boggs, I enjoyed our rap - I shall return! Renee Richards." The autobiography of tennis player Renee Richards, who was born Richard Raskin, and transitioned to female in the mid-1970s, and successfully sued the U.S. Tennis Association to be able to play in the U.S. Open as a woman. In 1977, at age 43, Richards made it to the women's doubles final, losing to a pair that included Martina Navratilova, whom she herself would later coach. One of the first high-profile cases of transgender identity in the U.S. Especially uncommon signed.
