The autobiography of tennis player Renee Richards, who was born Richard Raskin, and transitioned from male to female in the mid-1970s, and successfully sued the U.S. Tennis Association to be able to play in the U.S. Open as a woman. In 1977, at age 43, Richards made it to the women's doubles final, losing to a pair that included Martina Navratilova, whom she herself would later coach. One of the first high-profile cases of transgender identity in the U.S. Especially uncommon signed.
