Chicago: SDS, 1971. 11x17 inch folded handbill, printed both sides, illus., very lightly and evenly toned, very good. A handbill, in the guise of a New Left Notes "Extra", promoting two different actions. One is diverting demonstrators from a SMC-NPAC (Student Mobilization Committee-National Peace Action Coalition) protest by the Capitol in Wash. DC on April 24, 1971 to a PLP-led rally at the Unemployment Sec. Office a couple of blocks away. The other is a May Day rally to be held in New York and Chicago, again led by the Progressive Labor Party. Bottom of back side is exhortation to "Join the SDS Summer Project" with a coupon to fill out for more information, etc. (When SDS imploded in sectarian fighting in June 1969, the Maoist PLP's members continued with an SDS under their domination and following PLP's initiatives.).
