Indexed. The first part of the book offers a general history of the Covenant. The second part which includes a bibliography considers the counties and the People of the Covenant. While the Covenanting struggle was primarily a denial of royal supremacy and an assertion of the divine headship and sole supremacy of Jesus Christ over His Church,, the contest against the episcopacy and the vindication of Presbytery are never lost sight of in the contending is of the Covenanters.
