Book sound and clean, almost VG, with minor general wear and a hint of aging. We found no marks in the text. Six sequential pages have a corner fold at lower-fore, with one of them affected with a small tear in the margin. The fragile jacket has chipping from the corners and upper edge, about an inch chip out from head of spine area, else smaller chips; now protected by archival lined wrapper. This is the 4th printing (from October) in 1951, the same year as the first printing (from August). This is two "books" in one, bound in the original dark green cloth, 556 pages total. Apparently a couple of folding charts were sometimes laid in in the back of this book, but this copy doesn't have them..
