New York: World Publishing, 1971. Very good in slt. marked dj. 8vo, 358pp. Red leather covers with swastika and floral motif on front cover, and title in white on spine. Original dj is clear, with white title on front cover. Dj has diagonal tear on back cover which intrudes approximately one inch into photo of author. Internally lightly toned, o/w very good. There is a small black library stamp on ffep.

Synopsis

The Scarlatti Inheritance is the first of 25 novels written by American author Robert Ludlum. The political thriller involves espionage and international secrets, two themes that Ludlum favored in later novels as well, such as The Bourne Identity (1980). Many of Ludlum’s novels have been made into films and mini-series. However, The Scarlatti Inheritance was never made into a film, despite the fact the rights were sold and scripts were worked on.
