Hurst and Blackett, London, 1956. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Good. 275 g.; (4), 5-208 pages stop red coloured boards with gilt titles to the backstrip. Bumping to the lower backstrip edge and to the book corners. Foxing and light browning to the text block edges. Light foxing to the endpapers and to the text. Original bookseller's sticker affixed to the lower right-hand corner of the front paste-down, and this has ghosted on to the free front end paper. Previous owners details had been scrubbed out using "whiteout", to the top left-hand corner of the front paste-down. Colour illustrated dustwrapper with ochre and black titles to the front panel and blue titles to the backstrip. Chipping to the dustwrapper corners and top backstrip edge. The lower 0.25 " of the backstrip is missing. Rubbing to the dustwrapper edges and dustwrapper panels and the backstrip and the rear panel shows sunning. Clipping of the dustwrapper, front fold over, lower right-hand corner. "Can a girl be really happy with the man whose job she despises?
