Numbers 1-8 (complete), 4to (27 x 20.5 cm); illustrations by Beardsley, Conder, Shannon, Rickets, Beerbohm, Sickert and others, advertisements, Christmas card loose (as issued); literary contributions from Yeats, Conrad, Shaw, and others, publisher's first state blue cloth gilt by Beardsley, tiny dent to spine vol. 2, else near-fine. A complete & fine set of The Savoy bound into the publisher's first issue cloth binding cases, with 'Leonard Smithers' at the foot of the spines rather than 'Leonard Smithers & Co.' or, later still, with John Lane's imprint.As indicated in the ads to page 95 of the final issue, the set could be purchased in different ways including in 'artistic blue cloth cases with elaborate cover designs in gold by Aubrey Beardsley' as here.
