Publisher's green cloth, ruled in gilt to front board and stamped with an illustration of a swordfish jumping from the water, lettered in gilt to spine, all edges gilt; in the publisher's glassine and original green slipcase with green title label. A fine copy, glassine with some creasing and a four-inch closed tear to rear edge of spine panel, slipcase with a touch of rubbing to extremities and some scattered spotting. Overall, a beautiful copy, rare in this condition. This non-fiction book by the author and explorer Van Campen Heilner describes the experience of salt water fishing in different areas of the world. The introduction, written by fellow author and mentor Zane Grey, describes the book as Campen Heilner's best. From a young age, Heilner contributed to outdoor magazines, continuing on to publish books including Adventures in Angling, American Duck-Shooting, and Our American Game Birds, in addition to Salterwater Fishing. An avid traveler, Heilner spent a significant amount of time in Cuba, where he met and befriended the author Ernest Hemingway, and was commended by the Cuban government for his documentation of his explorations..
