Faber & Faber, London, 1966. First Edition. Hardcover (Original Cloth). Good Condition (ex-library)/Good. Green coloured boards with gilt coloured titles to the backstrip. Colour illustrated dustwrapper, by Charles Mozley, with yellow, pink and black coloured titles to the front panel and black colour titles to the backstrip. A novella and 9 short stories from this author, the novella being a celebration of the Centenary of the birth of H. G. Wells; and, the other short stories encompassing all of the author's range – horror, crime etc. This book is an ex-library book. The free front end page is missing. Library stamp and remnants of a sticker can be seen to the verso of the title page otherwise no library markings to be found. Softening and rubbing of the backstrip edges rubbing of the corners. There is a cock of the spine with light tanning of the text block edges and age toning of the pages. Some faint foxing to the text block edges. A little creasing to the top backstrip edge and remnants of a library sticker to the lower backstrip edge. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with a stain to the top edge of the dustwrapper, which can also be seen to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [12], 13-281, [3] pages,.
