Very dark blue [almost black] cloth with orange lettering and with a pictorial design blind stamped onto the front board, 287 pages [collecting various tales of the sea [involving Odysseus, Cleopatra, the Vikings, Trafalgar, the ironclads of the US Civil War, etc.], pictorial endpapers. Listed in the 1948 [but not the 1978] Bleiler Checklist [page 34]. Edge wear, toning to page edges, residue of book seller label affixed to top edge front free endpaper, and a book seller label affixed to the top edge of the rear endpaper. See photos. bx133
