Illustrated with an engraved frontispiece plate, engraved title page (with vignette), and two original mounted albumen photographs. Contemporary hand-colored armorial bookplate on front pastedown ("Amore Patriae"), and contemporary owner's name "W.R. Scott" in ink on front flyleaf. Spine and front joint modestly rubbed, the frontispiece plate and facing engraved title page are lightly dust soiled with slight stain on fore-edge, very good. Both photographs take the place of the two engravings as called for after the contents page: each is mounted above printed captions: "Dr. Grant and Sandy," and: "A Glimpse of Knockhill, 1864". An attractive copy in a fine binding.
