Issued in a limited edition of 300 numbered copies signed by Barry Unsworth on the title page and a further 35 copies in the deluxe edition( Roman Numeral copies) which were signed and dated to the title page. This is the latter and is XVII of the Deluxe 35 edition it comes complete with additional artwork signed by Ezequiel Mabote and numbered 17/30. Typography, design and layout by Laurance Cramer. Printed on 160 gsm Naturalis Absolute White paper by Ultra Litho in Johannesburg. Bound in Brillianta bookcloth with printed labels on front board and spine. All contained in a matching slipcase. Synopsis

Sacred Hunger is a historical novel by Barry Unsworth first published in 1992. It was joint winner of the Booker Prize that year, sharing the position with Michael Ondaatje's The English Patient. The story is set in the mid 18th century and centers around the Liverpool Merchant, a slave ship employed in the triangular trade, a central trade route in the Atlantic slave trade.
