New York: Farrar & Rinehart, 1939. First edition. Hardcover. Cosgrave, John O'Hara. 294pp. Octavo [21 cm] Red cloth with the title stamped in gilt on a black panel on the backstrip. White and blue map endpapers. Very good. The spine ends and corners of the covers are bumped, and there is a faded strip at the foot of the spine. The front cover has several dot-sized stains, and there is a previous owner's bookplate on the front free endsheet, leaving a prominent glue stained area on the reverse. In a price-clipped dust jacket, in very good condition, with periodic chipping and short closed tears in the edges, sunning to the jacket's spine, and moderate soiling on the rear panel. Seventh volume in the 'Rivers of America' Series. Illustrated by John O'Hara Cosgrave. Rivers and American Folk by Constance Lindsay Skinner at the rear.
