The text of the "Rules and Articles," in both English and French, is prefaced by the text of the Act of Parliament that led to their creation. The purpose of the act was "to enable Subjects of France to inlist [sic] as Soldiers in Regiments to serve on the Continents of Europe, and in certain other Places; and to enable His Majesty to grant commissions to Subjects of France, to serve and receive Pay as Officers in such Regiments, or as Engineers, under certain Restrictions." A rare book. No copies in WorldCat; only one copy of the 1794 edition published by Eyre & Strahan is recorded in WorldCat. Size: 8vo. Second Edition.. Paperbound. Good.
