Fine in highly decorated tan cloth covered boards with a gilt on red title block on the spine with a green floral motif which extends across the front board with gilt borders. A small quarto measuring 9" by 6 1/2" with illustrated end sheets and the top edge of the text block gilt with the ghost of a prior owner's book plate on the front free end page. Without a dust jacket; however, the book is enclosed in a very good- paper covered slip case with the upper rear edge heavily worn. 197 pages of verse. Illustrated with drawings by Edmund Dulac. A very attractive book in a highly decorated binding.

Mabel Eardley-Wilmot. 4to. in cream coloured cloth decorated boards in green, black, and gold, with gilt titles to front center and spine. Top edge gilt, other edges untrimmed, illustrated endpapers. Rear board with a very faint smudge (really nothing), light bumping to spine foot, and a touch worn at the spine head. The paper over the rear hinge has started at the top. Clean throughout and unmarked, a really fresh copy overall. Illustrated with green endpieces and decorated initials in green, with tipped in photographs by Mabel Eardley-Wilmot.

The First UK Edition thus published by in 1922. The BOOK is in Very Good ++ condition. Quarto, about 11.5 inches (29.5 cm) tall, in bright patterned cloth with gilt spine titling and motif. Some rubbing to the corners and book edges. Slight pushing at the spine tips.Gilt titling remains bright. Hinges beginning to ease but the book remains tight. Orange bookmark still present but separated at the spine end. 108 pages illustrated by 20 colour plates including the second half title, and elaborate initial capitals in orange and black. The plates have tissue guards (which are all present with mild creasing to the first one which is also loose) and the illustrations are imaginative art deco style productions decorated in gilt and silver and in bright colours. Cream and orange paisley designed endpapers. Edges uncut, 108pp black and orange decorated initial letter to each stanza with 20 colour images in the Art Deco style with silver and gold highlights by Anne Fish, all with tissue guards. The book comes with its scarce original dust jacket. The boards are very good plus with a little bruising to the corners and a hint of shelfwear to the bottom edge. The gilt titles on the spine are a touch faded. Internally, there is no name inscription or book plate, the patterned front free endpaper has been removed at some point in the past and has now been professionally replaced with a copy.
