Lang, a long time professor at Syracuse, Chicago, and Virginia who specialized in 19th century British literature as part of his doctoral studies at Harvard ?) SIGNED by Editor Janet Camp Troxell, daughter of Walter Camp. Troxell's collection of manuscripts and research materials relating to the Rossettis and their circle are held at the Princeton University Library. Illuminating study re-evaluating Dante Gabriel Rossetti's poem and his various changes in the text from 1854-1881. Among the illustrations is a reproduction of part of the rare Dusseldorf Album for 1854 in which "Sister Helen" was first printed. 95 pp. Nine illustrations of some of Rossetti's changes from manuscripts, proofs and books, one of which is a fold-out measuring approximately 13 by 17 inches. Black cloth boards with very bright gilt title to spine. Tightly bound and very clean. Dust jacket, now protected in mylar, has original price on flap. Jacket has browning and wear to edges, two small minor damp stains at jacket spine, and about a 1.5 inch chip to top of spine area not affecting any text. This signed copy, a work of keen scholarship, is scarce in any format or condition.
