University of Queensland Press , St Lucia, Brisbane, 1988. First Edition. Hardcover. Good/Very Good. Illustrator: Cynthia Breusch – Cover Art. Acknowledgements, publisher's note. Peach coloured end pages. Brick coloured boards with white coloured titles to the backstrip. Illustrated dustwrapper, by Cynthia Breusch, With white and yellow coloured titles to the front panel and white coloured titles to the backstrip. Black and white photograph of author to the rear fold over panel. This is the author's last work, and some of the stories were unfinished at the time of her death. With the help of her family and using only what she authorised and approved of in her lifetime, the nine unfinished stories were tidied up – but nothing was added. Spanning 1880 through to the 1980s, this is a panorama of Australian life as seen by four generations of the McGovern family. Rubbing of the backstrip edges and book corners. Heavy tanning of the textblock edges and lighter tanning of the pages stop boxing to the end pages and the half title page has quite nasty stain running the full length of the page – please see photograph – along with some foxing. Rubbing of the dustwrapper edges and panels with some fine foxing to the verso. Size: 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. [9], 2 - 135, [1] pages.. Please refer to accompanying picture (s).
