Fair. - Small octavo, three-quarter dark brown calf & brown cloth titled in gilt on spine between gilt-decorated raised bands in blind; marbled edges & endpapers. The binding is bumped & rubbed & the head of the spine is chipped with a short tear to the front joint. 384 & [3] pp. & 7-page publisher's catalogue. The front endpaper, flyleaf & half-title are detached with a small piece out of each front edge. The page edges are darkened & there is scattered foxing & staining. B&W frontispiece, 1 B&W plate & decorative initials. Ex-library with library bookplate on front pastedown, blind stamps on title, top margins of plates & first page of text, discard stamp on bottom margin of frontispiece & numerals stamped on 2 pages. Good working copy. <p>The text is in French.
