Written by Charles R. Gibson, an author of scientific works for children whose writings were extremely popular and prolific. Awarded to C. W. Adcock from Boston School, dated 1911. Bound by Bickers & Son, Leicester Square. With gilt detail to the spine and borders, the gilt crest of Boston School to the front board, and marbled edges and endpapers. An early edition; this work first appeared in 1908. With sixty-three illustrations throughout. In a full calf binding. Externally very smart; light rubbing to the head of the spine and extremities. Prize bookplate to the front pastedown. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are bright and clean. Fine
